D&D for Secondary Schools:
Grades 9–12
In the secondary grades, Mind Forge utilizes Dungeons & Dragons as a sophisticated platform for Identity Exploration, Advanced Leadership Development, and Applied Social Justice. Our programs meet the need for complex, engaging elective content and provide practical skills that prepare students for post-secondary life and career paths.
How Our Program Works
Our secondary program, "The Advanced Guild," is structured to challenge critical thinking and harness the maturity of older students through high-stakes, realistic narrative scenarios.
-
Complex Narrative Stakes: Campaigns tackle themes relevant to secondary students (e.g., managing a fragile alliance, solving political corruption, addressing community inequality). This provides a safe, metaphorical laboratory to debate complex real-world issues. (More relaxed story driven modules are also available)
-
Character as Self-Study: Students are encouraged to use their characters to explore aspects of their own identity, decision-making style, and values. This is framed as advanced self-reflection rather than just basic social skills practice.
-
Flexible Delivery: Sessions are structured to fit secondary schedules, often as extended after-school seminars or integrated modules within Career Studies or English electives.
-
Premade Characters: To save on time we have created a roster of premade characters that students can choose from that fit their personality. (Students can create their own characters. If this is something you desire for your program please let us know first)

Partnership Models for Your School
We offer flexible models to integrate D&D into your school's schedule:
-
After-School Clubs (Most Popular): We run weekly 90-minute sessions on-site, serving as subsidized social skills and wellness clubs.
-
In-Class SEL Modules: Our facilitators lead short-term (e.g., 4-week or 1 day) D&D adventures directly aligned with the Health and Physical Education (H&PE) curriculum's well-being and life skills expectations.
-
Professional Development (PD): We offer workshops for teachers on integrating roleplaying techniques to foster classroom narrative, teamwork, and behavioral regulation strategies.
